Have you tried talk therapy, but still feel stuck? Are you looking for a therapeutic experience that includes your body, spirit, mind? Somatic therapy is a body-based, trauma-informed approach that goes beyond talking and offers experiential practices that can gently reshape the nervous system patterns (trauma). Somatic Therapy builds a sense of home in our bodies and our world so we can experience aliveness and ease. It is gentle and attachment-focused, drawing from compassionate, client-centered and body focused practices.
I truly believe that everyone has the capacity to access greater peace and ease within their lives, but there are often factors in life that impact us and make those states harder to access – from early childhood experiences, trauma, beliefs, family dynamics, relationships to societal influences. Somatic based counselling offers a safe and gentle way of reclaiming parts of ourselves we’ve had to disconnect from.
Over the past 10 years I’ve slowly gathered pieces that now shape the work I do. From more traditional counselling talk therapy, to yoga and mindfulness, to somatic based therapy, I see value in a holistic approach that welcomes all these elements. Together, we will work collaboratively to explore what is most supportive for you.
