My path to becoming a counsellor was shaped by my own life experiences. As a musician, athlete, and teacher, I have a deep understanding of what it feels like to battle performance anxiety, self-doubt, and low self-confidence. Going through personal relationship struggles also led me to seek out my own counseling, giving me first-hand insight into the vulnerability of being a client. Today, these experiences anchor my practice, allowing me to show up for my clients with genuine care, empathy and compassion.
To maintain my own balance and stay grounded, I fully embrace the West Coast lifestyle. You can usually find me outdoors—hiking, biking, snowboarding, or playing tennis year-round. I also love winding down with some quality chill time on the beach. Music and movement are big parts of my life, too; I love going to live shows, dancing, singing, and strumming my guitar.
My Practice:
Focuses on two connected areas: helping men improve their mental health and helping couples rebuild their relationships.
When working with men, my approach focuses on unpacking the protective mechanisms—like the need to always appear tough or emotionally shut down—that can ultimately leave you feeling isolated. If you struggle with vulnerability, you likely already see how heavily it impacts your relationships, your mental well-being, and even your physical health. These struggles frequently surface as anxiety, depression, or a general sense of confusion and lack of direction in your life.
Together, we will collaborate to build practical tools so you can confidently handle whatever comes up in your daily life. At the same time, we will explore how your past shapes your present emotional state. By developing a deeper understanding of your history, you can break old patterns, manage today's challenges, and begin a real process of healing.
Couples Counselling
In couples counselling, I act as a neutral guide to help you step back from constant arguments and miscommunications, teaching couples how to actually hear each other again, repair from disagreements, and bring back the trust and closeness that might have been lost along the way.
My approach involves an initial assessment (through the Gottman Connect portal) as well as exercises that couples do together and sometimes separately between sessions. This collaborative process allows couples to safely navigate their vulnerabilities, heal past emotional wounds, and rebuild intimacy, trust, safety, and mutual respect.
These two areas naturally impact each other. When you are feeling mentally healthy and stable as an individual, you can show up much better for your partner. At the same time, having a supportive, loving relationship at home makes it much easier to handle the stresses of daily life.
